Questions
How much stick drift is too much?
Under 3% is the normal rest noise of a healthy stick, and games hide it. From 3% up the stick drifts: your view or aim can creep on its own unless your game’s dead zone covers it. Above 20%, a dead zone that big dulls fine aim, so clean or repair the stick.
What dead zone should I set for stick drift?
Set the stick’s dead zone a little above its drift: the test suggests about a quarter more, rounded up, so 8% drift needs about 10%. Set it for that stick in your game’s controller settings, and keep it no bigger than you need, or small stick moves start to feel dead.
How do I prove controller drift for a warranty claim?
Put the controller down, run the 10-second drift test, then click Download drift report. You get an image with the date, the controller’s name, each stick’s drift and the suggested dead zone, ready to attach to your claim or a support request. The seller or maker decides the claim, but the report shows the drift in plain numbers.
Does this work with PS5, Xbox and Switch Pro controllers?
Yes: PS5 (DualSense), PS4, Xbox and Switch Pro controllers work in Chrome and Edge on Windows and in Chrome on Android, by cable or Bluetooth. Press any button after the page opens, because browsers only show a controller after a press. On Windows the Xbox Share button never reaches the browser, so it stays dark here.
